The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) warns employers about their high work related injury and illness rate. Last month, OSHA sent a total of 15,000 letters to employers that have the “highest number of injuries and illnesses” and possess a relatively high DART rate.

The DART rate measures days away from work, restricted work activities, and job transfers. According to OSHA, the national DART rate average is 2. Recipients of the letter had a rating of 4.5 per 100 full-time employees.

If you received one of these letters, it is highly recommended to reevaluate your company’s safety programs and procedures.
